The Opportunity: Full-time employee with the Adirondack Economic Development Corporation Location: Saranac Lake, NY (Up to 80% field / 20% in-Office) Compensation: $60,000 – $75,000 (Commensurate with experience) Schedule: 37.5 hours weekly.
A Strategic Partnership
The Adirondack Economic Development Corporation (AEDC) has partnered with Coryer Staffing to lead the search for a strategic Business Counselor. While Coryer Staffing is executing the recruitment and interview process, the selected candidate will join the AEDC team as a full-time employee from their first day of employment.
The Role: Fueling Community Resilience
We are seeking a mission-driven professional to provide expert guidance to nonprofit organizations looking to scale their impact. This role focuses on the unique intersection of social mission and financial sustainability, helping leaders move from "survival mode" to long-term growth.
How You’ll Make an Impact
● Strategic Growth: Facilitate 3–5 year roadmaps and help leaders build capacity for new service lines.
● Financial Sustainability: Analyze funding models and identify opportunities for revenue diversification.
● Capital Access: Guide nonprofit clients in preparing loan applications, including financial projections for microlenders or traditional banks.
● Field Engagement: Spend approximately 80% of your time in the community, traveling across 14 counties to meet with mission-driven leaders.
● Operational Optimization: Evaluate workflows and technology to ensure infrastructure can support scaled programming.
● Impact Measurement: Assist mission-driven nonprofit and community leaders in developing KPIs to demonstrate their effectiveness.
Who You Are
● Experienced: 5–7 years in business consulting, nonprofit management, or financial leadership.
● Educated: Bachelor’s degree in Business or Public Administration or related field (graduate work or degree preferred).
● Analytical: Proficiency in data analysis and modeling to project growth outcomes.
● Community-Minded: Strong networking skills and a desire to support the North Country’s local business ecosystem.
● Diverse life experiences and cultural competency are desirable.
